Once again, the new year heralded our annual Robertson family reunion - this time it was held at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel near Peebles. It was very comfortable and provided us with absolutely delicious food (although some hungrier family members would say that the portion sizes were a little meagre... But I thought it was JUST right!)
We all arrived from our various corners of the country throughout the Friday evening, and after dinner had a good catch up with one another - for some it has been almost a whole year since we last saw each other! We were very sad that our Dutch cousins Alexis and Joanna couldn't make it this year, but hopefully it won't be long before we see them again.
Saturday morning we awoke to this view from our window:
The snow had been falling steadily all night and the scenery was absolutely beautiful, with the sun making everything sparkle. We decided to set off on a walk along a disused railway to the village of Peebles. This was not before we came across some evidence of some night time activity in the car park: Most cars had a frosting of an inch or two of snow, but one car in particular seemed to have taken the brunt of the snow fall and was buried underneath SEVERAL inches... Ian and Moira's car was almost unrecognisable!
The moral of the story is - don't upset David Nichols, by say... throwing a snow ball at him unexpectedly... revenge is served cold and snowy.

Unfortunately my pictures just don't do the views on the walk justice!!
The rest of the afternoon was spent doing mixed activities - we took Hannah for a swim with several others, which she LOVED. She was so excited to see everyone in the pool! Then all three of us had a much needed nap before dinner.
The evening meal was served in a separate private room so we were allowed to make as much noise as we wanted! It was lots of fun, and someone came to babysit Hannah so we didn't have to worry about disturbing her night too much.
Hannah herself seemed to LOVE the attention she received at the weekend. She almost had a permanent smile on her face and was constantly making her new favourite noise (which we think is a laugh) - it can only be compared to a baby dinosaur.

A fantastic time was had by all, and this time next year we will have yet another addition! It's very hard to tell by the photo, but Elaine is baking a little friend for Hannah who is due to arrive at the beginning of February. We're all very excited to meet him!
