This week we made Olivia's first trip through to Glasgow to visit Grannie Cathie and Grandad Bob. It was a nice surprise to see Auntie Mairead there too! She was a very sleepy girl the whole time we were there (Olivia, not Mairead!) but this meant plenty of peaceful cuddles were given to everyone. Hannah was a little shy on arrival, but soon remembered where the biscuit tin was located and happily dug into the pile of (noisy) toys in the toy box.

You may have noticed from the photos that Hannah is sporting an impressive bruise on her chin. We haven't enrolled her in a jitsu club just yet, the bruise was caused by a near-accident on a bus last Wednesday. A white van pulled out in front of the bus we were on, causing Hannah to fly off the seat next to me and hit the seat ahead, not once, but twice with her face! It all happened so fast there was no time to grab her, but I'm very grateful that a bruise is all that happened, it really could have been a lot worse.
The bus driver was really lovely and came to make sure she was ok before driving on, and I initially thought that all she had suffered was a fright, but as the day went on it became evident that a deep bruise was appearing. It makes me think that there is a definite argument for seat belts on buses, as even if I'd been holding her on my knee I suspect the same thing would have happened! Thankfully she has happily got onto a bus since, so I am confident that she's not too traumatised by the incident!
